How to make PUP-CAKES. Want to give your pooch something for Easter? Here is a dog friendly recipe to bake cupcakes for your dog.

Want to give your pooch something for Easter? Here is a dog friendly recipe to bake cupcakes for your dog.

 

Pup-Cakes Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 3 medium carrots (grated)
  • 150g apple sauce (unflavoured and unsweetened)
  • 2 eggs
  • 150ml semi-skimmed milk
  • 225g wholewheat flour
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • Peanut butter
  • Dog dry food

 

Method:

 

  1. Preheat your oven to 180°c
  2. Arrange the cupcake cases onto a baking tray
  3. In a mixing bowl, add the grated carrots, eggs, apple sauce and milk.   Mix and leave to one side
  4. In a separate bowl, add the wholewheat flour, baking powder and cinnamon and mix
  5. Add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and stir well
  6. Once the mixture forms a batter, spoon it into the cupcake cases until they are filled
  7. Bake in the oven for approx 10 minutes. To test insert a knife or skewer into the centre of one cupcake, and if it comes out clean, the pupcakes are ready
  8. Let the pupcakes cool on a wire rack
  9. Add a dot of peanut butter for dog food to stick on pupcakes
